NorthWest Choir Camp

Under the overall direction of Dinah Helgeson, this camp is specially designed for singers from grades four through high school, empowering them with energy rooted in the spirit of singing rather than the ego of the art. It features a Junior and a Senior Choir. Morning and evening rehearsals are complemented by traditional camp activities (swimming, canoeing, crafts, hiking, games, campfire and worship).

This year's faculty includes: Dinah Helgeson, choral director from Vashon Island, Washington; Anthony Giles, Choral Director at at the International School of Bangkok; John Baker, choral director at Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Oregon; Sandy Baker, choral director at Alder Creek Middle School in Milwaukie, Oregon; and Larry Swingen, choral director in Malta, and John Trepp, retired music educator of the Vancouver School District in Vancouver, B.C.Montana.

Faculty members will be available to students for individual voice lessons and small ensemble work.

Our week together concludes at noon on Friday with a concert for your parents and friends. At that time each camper will receive a free Northwest Choir Camp T-shirt. The final concert will be recorded again this year and available for purchase.
